Baby Disposal: $50. Mitt Romney for President: Priceless.

Newsmax has the following story:

Former Massachusetts Gov. Romney “comes on and says he's pro-life and yet he signed a bill that gives a $50 co-pay for an elective abortion in his state's health care plan,” Huckabee told host Tim Russert on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

I've actually known this fact for quite some time now, but any life-loving individual should be appalled that the destruction of an innocent life could be purchased for fifty smackers. Just the idea that someone could consider ever allowing a bill like this to pass makes me doubt that person's respect for human life. I could never vote for a person that has supported a bill like this, especially since they have changed positions on it several times.

A person's chance at life can be ended by fifty dollars. Mitt Romney has spent millions upon millions to "purchase the presidency." Apparently the presidency has much more value to him than the life of an individual who hasn't even had a chance at life yet. Mitt Romney is scary. I will never vote for him, no matter who he is running against.

GOPBloggers has some more comments and a link to the actual documentation of this bill.

I was searching for one word to describe my feelings toward Gov. Romney and PresidentialBlogger08 bulls-eyed it. Scary. I never felt comfortable watching or listening to that man, something just didn't seem right and true..he came across as cool and calculating, kind of mean spirited, with a look and an air about him that comes across as diabolical. This is just my opinion of him, wonder how many others, if any, feel the same way.

I, for one, agree with luce and presidenthuckabee08. I believe that the fact that he ever supported the law to begin with shows for certain who the real Mitt Romney is. I get a wierd feeling whenever I look at him or hear him speak.

The more information that comes out about Romney the more his plastic exterior becomes transparent. We are seeing the real Mitt Romney and it is defiantly SCARY. Scary because a lot of people look no farther into the real Romney than is portrayed by his slick ads and news media coverage.

I'm with you. I could not compromise my convictions to vote for Romney regardless of who he is running against.

You guys confuse personal conviction for service of the people. You think Romney wrote that Bill on his own? It is more likely that the "good loving Christians" of that stated wanted abortion. I personally am not in favor of abortion, but I am not about to degrade a person in office that is following the "overwheming will of the people". Being in public office is NOT about taking your personal values and thrusting it upon the people. You lead and guide where you can and make suggestions but you cannot and should not FORCE the issue on someone. If this is what Huckabee stands for then how long will it be before he thrusts his distain for non Christian groups and orders them out of the country? Oh wait, we have a constitution that states freedom of religion except when running for president.

Romney is not pro abortion as much as he is "for the people" and there is a big difference in the two statments.

BTW Yes, I am a Mormon and NO I am not supporting Romney, I am undecided to date. Some of the things that I have read about Mormons (mostly lies) makes me wonder if anyone has read about bearning false witness. Please save your breath on the brainwashed mentality as well.

And you Huckabees call Romney distorting the facts? In the negative ad that Huckabee decided not to show, but did anyway (hypocritical flip-flopping they accuse Romney of, and it did still show in parts of Iowa) is says that there was a $50 copay for abortions that Romney supported. Notice that this one and the "No Executions" one did not have sources. Here's why:
Abortions: The $50 copay was mandated by the MA Courts BEFORE Romney even made his healthcare plan. Romney, by law, had to include it else he would go to jail!
Executions: No executions sounds pretty liberal to me...until you find out that MA has no execution statue! Romney couldn't execute anybody just like you couldn't go around murdering anyone.

Romney's ads have been nothing but comparative. He even points out positives in his candidates. He never has called any of his opponents "liars", "phonies", never said that he'd like to give his
"[opponent] a shower", never said that his opponent reminds him of they "guy who laid him off", never had his campaign manager say he'd like to "punch him in the teeth", never sicked a movie star to attack his opponent and do the dirty work for him while standing right next to him, never made religion the issue and then claiming ignorance.

And people think Romney makes "cheap shots" and is negative. Huckabee gets away with it because he's an evangelical Pastor and pleads ignorance.
